this week, one of them will probably go out of the italian jail, and the italian government will soon send him to tunisia to die.

LETTER FROM BEHIND THE WALLS OF AN ITALIAN JAILHOUSE:

WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO TO LIVE ON AND NOT TO DIE UNDER TORTURE?
The reason why we are now in an Italian jail is because we have been accused of belonging to an organization of "muslim terrorists", that was supposed to take action in Italy and even being connected to Bin Laden and Al Qaeda.
But, on this purpose we want to let everybody know that, in our opinion, the muslim terrorism in Italy does not exist, and this is shown by the fact that, despite the defamatory campaign created by the mass-media against the arabians and the arrest of many people, nothing ever happened.
We also want to remark that, at the beginning, we have been unjustly accused of terrorism, and soon after we have been condemned only for the articles 81/416/110648of the italian law, articles that have nothing to do with terrorism, because nothing was found against us.
While staying in jail in Italy, with the same accusations we have also been judged and convicted in Tunisia by the military court, in absentia and without any possibility to defend ourselves, because until the end of the trial we did not even know about it.
So we remark that the if the italian government or the authorities should decide to extradite us, in Tunisia we wuold soon undergo an unimaginable sequence of tortures that would end up with our death.
In fact, the fate reserved by the govern of Tunisia to the political opposers is submitted to the militar authority, that only answers to the requirements and interests of the political power, and all this happens under the full non-observance of the democratic rules that are in force in thew European countries and in Italy.
Tunisia, everybody knows, has got a regime that doesn't allow any political opposer and that violates each and every human, civil and political right of the citizens, with the only purpose of keeping the power.
Many mass-media have spread the news about the aggression underwent by the judge, Mr MOKHTAR YAHYAOUI, and his lawyer, Mr SAIDA AKREMI BHIRI, just for claiming the independence of jurisdiction.
For these reasons it's easy to understand what we would find if we ever were expelled from Italy and brought to Tunisia.
From a long time we made applications to many political centres, to many police-head-quarters of different countries, to Amnesty International, without ever receiving an answer that gives us any hope to survive, and so: WHAT DO WE HAVE TO DO TO LIVE ON AND NOT TO DIE UNDER TORTURE?
At this point we beg all the people who operate in the field of the human rights and dignity, to estimate our position and help us, and to give us one more hope to survive .
We are anxiously waiting for a gentle and generous answer from you.
Thank you very much.

The signatories of the appeal were accused, in the beginning, of "islamic terrorism and relationships with Al Qaeda" and called "monsters" by the mass-media, but then condemned practicly just for possessing forged documents, exactly like almost all the other people who were arrested in Italy from September 11th, 2001 on: first they were accused to be terrorists, and then condemned for the small offences that are often associated to those who live in a place where they are unwished for racial reasons.
Essid Sami Ben Khemais, Charaabi Tarek, Kammoun Mehdi, Ben Soltani Adel, Bouchoucha Moktar, Jelassi Riadh, Aouadi Mohamed, are some of the victims of the "witch-hunt" begun after the demolishing of the Twin Towers.
The Government of Tunisia used the same evidences that in Italy were considered groundless, to condemn them without them even knowing about the trials.
At the end of the penalty, they will be extradited and forced to come back to their native land, and they will be tortured until they die.
THIS WEEK, ONE OF THEM WILL PROBABLY GO OUT OF THE ITALIAN JAIL, AND THE ITALIAN GOVERNMENT WILL SOON SEND HIM TO TUNISIA TO DIE.
For these reasons THEY ASK EVERYBODY TO OPERATE ON THEIR BEHALF, to stop the extradition and not to send them to death under torture.
Thank you.
