Since 11.30 am the Administration building of the University at the Propylaia area is squatted, in solidarity with the 7. Banners have been set up, as well as sound equipment at the building entrance and solidarity messages are being read.
The squat statement:
SOLIDARITY SQUAT FOR THE 7 IMPRISONED FIGHTERS AT THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ATHENS
Today, November 20, after a decision of the anarchist and antiauthoritarian assembly of solidarity to the 7 imprisoned, persecuted for the resistance acts of the June 21 march against the EU summit in Thessaloniki, we are squatting the Administration building of the University of Athens.
We demand the immediate release of the seven fighters, 5 of whom are on a long-running hunger strike. Detained in the hospital of the Koridallos prison, Suleiman Dakduk Castro is on day 61, Carlos Martin Martinez and Simon Chapman on day 47 and Spiros Tsitsas on day 44, while Fernando Perez who is being treated in the Nikaia Central State hospital is on day 47 of the hunger strike.
At the same time, Dimitris Fliouras and Michalis Traikapis are still being held at the minors' prison in Avlona.
Their continued being held hostage by the greek state is an attempt to physically and politically exterminate anyone struggling for freedom with their life as their only weapon, and
sends a message of terrorisation to anyone who resists.
Against state repression and the imposed graveyard silence in society:
FREEDOM TO THE 7 IMPRISONED FIGHTERS OF THESSALONIKI
SOLIDARITY TO THE HUNGER STRIKERS |
