Hackers and Cybersurfers from all over Spain are organising themselves to resist a law that seriously threatens the freedom of expression over communication mediums in our country. The new LSSI-CE law, that was approved by congress on the 9th of May will become a potent weapon for control and censorship that the government will use against all independent information sites throughout the country.

E.U. is WATCHING yOu!

On may 30 the European Parliament approved the introduction of clauses to the 97/66 Directive about the treatment of personal information and protection of privacy in the sector of telecommunications. Member states can adopt legal means to limit his citizens' privacy rights. Spain didn't wait (the Directive is still in process), and the parlamentary group of Partido Popular already introduced a clause to LSSI which obligates providers to store for at least 1 year all personal information about its users, in both internet and telephone (including cellulars), and have them ready for police controls; with so vague excuses like "national security", "state defense", "prevention and persecution of crime"... less privacy, more control, more paranoia.

Strasbourg no-border international summer camp (19-28 july 2002) is an effort to connect cyber-activism and street struggle, technic knowledge and social awareness, in 10 days of living together and creative resistance.
