Escanda amenaça amb ser dessaallotjat. Aqui tens el comunicat que Escanda fa per a al crida al suport local i internacional. |

Saludos desde Escanda.
Recibimos malas noticias que amenazan la existencia del proyecto de Escanda. Este es un comunicado que llama al apoyo y solidaridad internacional para ayudarnos en este momento crÃtico.
Hoy (jueves 4 de septiembre) hemos recibido una carta de la fundación propietaria en Asturias informándonos que tenemos de abandonar el edificio en diez dÃas!. Se nos ha dicho que podemos continuar, pero sin el edificio, solo con el terreno, lo cual no es muy factible.
Todo esto ha empezado a partir de un estúpido incidente que ocurrió en Ronzón en Agosto. Estábamos acogiendo un encuentro de personas que no conocÃamos personalmente, pero que se nos habÃa dicho que eran formales y de confianza, pero que acabaron causando algunos daños menores en la propiedad, incluidos daños en la cruz de la capilla.
Nos reunimos el próximo martes con al fundación para tratar de recurrir esta decisión. Nuestra estrategia principal es demostrar el apoyo que tiene el proyecto tanto a nivel internacional como local.
Este correo es un llamamiento a todas las personas que quieran mostrar este apoyo. Pedimos a estas personas que escriban cartas que expresen que Escanda es un proyecto que vale la pena y que no deberÃa ser desalojado. Necesitamos que cada carta sea original para que sea efectiva. Si podéis tomaros el tiempo para escribir una pequeña carta y enviarla por fax al numero que se reseña más adelante seria realmente útil para nuestro intento de salvar Escanda.
En este momento estamos pidiendo a todas las personas de escribir cartas que se centren en los aspectos positivos de Escanda redactar algo que ataque a la fundación por tomar la decisión equivocada. En general nos gustarÃa que dijerais que vuestra experiencia con Escanda ha sido positiva y porque, además aquà tenéis otros aspectos que quizás os gustarÃa incluir:
* Escanda tiene mucho potencial para convertirse en algo maravilloso y que merece la pena darle el tiempo que necesita.
* Porqué es importante dar espacio dentro de la sociedad civil a estos lugares sin ánimo de lucro que facilitan proyectos participativos para un basto público.
* Porqué es importante que un proyecto como el de Escanda esté ocurriendo en una lugar como Pola de Lena.
* Que quizás estabas interesado en comprometerte con escanda en una futura colaboración en Asturias y ayudar a realzar la imagen internacional de esta región a nivel internacional.

Esto está pasando muy rápido, por favor intenta enviar las cartas antes del fin de semana puesto que vamos a necesitar algún tiempo para recopilarlas y traducirlas, pero las vamos a poder utilizar igualmente si las envÃas durante el fin de semana o el lunes.

Greetings from Escanda.
We have had some bad news that threatens the existence of the whole
project. This is an appeal for international solidarity to help us at this
critical moment. Today (Thursday the 4th) we received a letter from the
foundation who maintains the property in Asturias informing us that we have
to leave the building in ten days time. We have been told that we can go
on, but without the building, only with the land, which is not very
realistic. This has come about due to a very stupid incident that occurred
in Ronzon in August. We were hosting a meeting for a group who we didn't
know personally, but we had been assured were reliable, trustworthy people,
but who ended up causing some minor property damage, including damage to
the cross in the chapel.
We are having a meeting on Tuesday with the foundation to try and appeal
this decision. Our main strategy in this appeal is to show the support that
the project has on both the local and international level. This email is an
attempt to mobilise people to provide this support. We are appealing for
people to write letters to express why they feel Escanda is a worthwhile
project and shouldn't be evicted. We need each letter to be original in
order for this to be effective. If you can take the time to write a short
letter and fax it to the number below it would really be very useful to us
in our attempt to save Escanda.
At this stage, we are asking people to write letters that focus on the
positive aspects of Escanda rather than attacking the foundation for making
a bad decision. Generally we would like you to say how your experience with
Escanda has been a positive one and why, but here are some other points you
might like to include:
*How Escanda has a lot of potential to develop into something very
wonderful and worthwhile if it is given the time to do so.
*Why it is important that such non-commercial spaces are given a place in
civil society and how they facilitate events and projects in a very
participatory way for the wider public.
*Why it is very important that a project like Escanda is happening
somewhere like Pola de Lena
*How you were hoping to engage in future collaborations with Escanda in
Asturias and enhance the region's international profile.
If you have a Spanish speaker available who can write this, fantastic, and
if not, then please write it in English and we will make a translation. If
possible, please use official, "headed" note-paper representing your
organisation, but don't worry if this is not possible. Address your letters
to "whom it may concern."
This is all happening very quickly, please try and send your letters of
support before the weekend as we will need some time to collate and
translate them, but we will still also be able to use them if you send them
over the weekend or on Monday. Fax your letters to 00-34-985 49 35 36.
