The nodes : NAIROBI, KENYA A convergence space has been set up by IMC volunteers from both Africa and beyond. Media activists from the Prometheus Radio Network started arriving in Naorobi a week ago and since then have started a series of physical building workshops with communities in and around Naorobi. A recent info states ".."We" is a convergence of 30+ indymedia activists, hosted by Kenya IMC, currently in Nairobi. We are from Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Zimbabwe, US, Germany and hopefully the delegates from Cameroon, Mali, and Nigeria will get their visa clearance to come. We are having a great time sharing skills, building radio transmitters, and talking about the needs of Indymedia in Africa." A very fruitful African Indymedia Conversation happened some days ago between these media activists with some interesting commentry from IMC-KENYA. There have been some serious problems with the Indymedia Kenya website which was set up two years ago but with the arrival of new people for the convergence, some of the major problems have been resolved. It's a really nice collective and the barrio has a long tradition of political activity. http://laquimera.org Radio will be streamed at r23. The two streams from Nairobi and Dublin will be picked from barcelona and restreamed to r23 already mixed. r23 is a net radio born in barcelona that now is international. Gives the oportunity to give server support for free streaming trhough a stream free servers ring giss. http://r23.cc DUBLIN, ÉIRE (IRELAND) Seomra spraoi, the name for the Dublin social centre collective, had a temporary space in 2005 which was used as an example of a "global listening node", but since then they have moved to a new space and have not yet been able to create an internet connection there. There are computers in this space donated by Revolt Video Collective, so if the net connection is not sorted soon the space will act as a listening node by picking up and playing prerecorded material from Kenya. Indymedia ireland were helping out to make this connection but they experienced a very serious tek problem which shut the site down untill money was raised to find a new server, this work obviosly took precedence for them. Revolt helped facilitate the last "global listening node" experiment with equipment, people, tek support and a film was made about this: streaming from the gaff. Els nodes : NAIROBI, KENYA Un espai de convergència ha estat muntat per voluntaris de IMC de Africa i altres territoris. Mitja activistes de la Prometheus Radio Network van començar a arribar A Nairobi fa una setmana i des de llavors han començat una sèrie de tallers per a la construcció física amb comunitats d'al voltant de Nairobi. Una informació recent afirma "'Nosaltres' som una convergència de més de 30 activistes de indymedia, allotjats pel IMC de Kenya, actualment a Nairobi. Som de Kenya, Sud Africa, Uganda, Zimbabwe, US, Alemanya i esperem que ls delegats de CAmerun, Mali i Nigèria obtindran les seves vises per a venir. Han hagut problemes seriosos amb la web de Indymedia Kenya que va començar fa dos anys però amb l'arribada de gent nova per a la trobada, diversos dels principals problemes han estat resolts. [20h - 24 Enero] Apoyo de Radio Indymedia al FSM (Foro Social Mundial) : Nairobi + Dublin + Barcelona por ((i)) radio 3 nodos en 3 ciudades para hacer un programa. 3 personas en cada país. 2h de programa hablando sobre la situación de la especulación y la vivienda. Los nodos : NAIROBI, KENYA Un espacio de convergencia ha sido montado por voluntaris de IMC de Africa y otros territorios. Media activistas de la Prometheus Radio Network empezaron a llegar a Nairobi hace una semana y desde entonces han empezado una serie de talleres para la construcción física con comunidades de alrededor de Nairobi. Una información reciente afirma "'Nosotrs' somos una convergencia de más de 30 activistas de indymedia, hospedados por el IMC de Kenia, actualmente en Nairobi. Somos de Kenia, Sud Africa, Uganda, Zimbabwe, US, Alemania y esperemos que ls delegads de CAmerun, Mali y Nigeria obtendran sus visas para venir.
