La Habana, 18 jul (PL) Cuba denunció hoy la connivencia de los países integrantes de la Unión Europea (UE) con la política agresiva de Estados Unidos contra la isla.
Un artículo de Ricardo Alarcón, presidente de la Asamblea Nacional del Poder Popular (Parlamento), publicado en el diario Granma, calificó a la organización europea de "Bella Durmiente" ante los planes anticubanos del presidente norteamericano, George W. Bush.
Alarcón condenó las denominadas medidas adicionales contra la nación caribeña aprobadas por la Casa Blanca el pasado 10 de julio, que incluyen iniciar juicios a Estados por comerciar con Cuba, tal como se establece en el título III de la ley Helms-Burton.
Recordó que cuando en 1996 Estados Unidos promulgó esa ley, Europa no condenó su carácter genocida e intervencionista, ni su propósito de acabar con la independencia y la soberanía de Cuba sometiéndola a servidumbre y completa dominación.
A la UE sólo le molestaban algunos aspectos de la Ley que afectaban sus propios intereses y por eso apenas protestó los títulos III y IV de ese adefesio, puntualizó.
Estos otorgan autoridad ilegal a los tribunales norteamericanos para emprender juicios a partir de reclamaciones presentadas por supuestos dueños de propiedades nacionalizadas en Cuba y también niega visas de entrada a Estados Unidos a quienes inviertan en la isla.
Aseguró Alarcón que los europeos no protestaron por el resto de la Ley porque esos gobiernos, de un modo u otro, eran cómplices de la política anticubana de Washington.
Añadió que se vieron obligados a criticar parcialmente la ley por la presión de la opinión pública y presentaron una demanda oficial ante la Organización Mundial del Comercio (OMC).
Explicó que finalmente se pusieron de acuerdo, se retiró la demanda y la UE declaró seguir apoyando los intentos norteamericanos para subvertir a la sociedad cubana.
El dirigente parlamentario afirmó que los europeos se conformaron con una suspensión de la aplicación del título III a cambio de la cual debían hacer exactamente lo ordenado.
Pero Europa no reaccionó cuando los norteamericanos castigaron arbitrariamente a empresas al amparo de la misma ley, que sigue intacta y, al contrario, Washington pudo agradecer públicamente su cooperación en la realización de los actos contra Cuba.
Cooperación tan generosa y desinteresada no ha sido afectada por las repetidas violaciones a la soberanía europea y a los derechos de sus empresas y ciudadanos, pues nada perturba el plácido sueño de la UE, patentizó Alarcón.
Al referirse a las nuevas medidas de Bush especificó que describen hasta el detalle el genocidio que imagina podrá realizar con los cubanos, amenaza con permitir los juicios previstos en el título III y anuncia reforzar la aplicación de las sanciones del título IV.
La Unión Europea guarda silencio, ninguna cancillería ha susurrado siquiera una palabra, nadie en Europa se ha dado por enterado, recalcó.
Manifestó que pedir a la UE condenar los planes secretos para atacar a la revolución cubana y las nuevas y crueles restricciones a las familias cubanas, sería pedir demasiado.
Igualmente, suponer que se opongan a las estúpidas y criminales prohibiciones contra las iglesias y los desvergonzados intentos por socavar la Operación Milagro y los servicios de salud mediante los cuales se salva la vida a millones de personas.
En eso de pactar con los fascistas, de dejarles las manos libres, hay bastante experiencia allende el Atlántico, pero también la hay, dolorosamente, de las consecuencias y muchos recuerdan a Munich y Chamberlain, sus paraguas y todo el horror que vino después, concluyó.

Cuba European connivance denounces with plans anticubans of USA
Havana, 18 Jul (PL) Cuba denounced today the connivance of the integral countries of European Union (EU) with the aggressive politics of United States against the island.
Ricardo's article Alarcón, president of the National Assembly of the Popular (Parliament) Power, published in daily Granma, qualified to "Beautiful Sleeper's" European organization before the North American president's plans anticubanos, George W. Bush.
Alarcón condemned those denominated additional measures against the Caribbean nation approved by the White House the past July 10 that include to begin trials to States to trade with Cuba, just as he settles down in the title III of the law Helms-Burton.

He added that they were forced to criticize the law partially for the pressure of the public opinion and they presented an official demand before the World Organization of the Trade (OMC).
He explained that finally they agreed, she retired the demand and the EU declared to continue supporting the North American intents to subvert to the Cuban society.
The parliamentary leader affirmed that the Europeans conformed to with a suspension of the application of the title III in exchange for which they should make that ordered exactly.
But Europe didn't react when the North Americans punished arbitrarily to companies to the help of the same law that continues intact and, on the contrary, Washington could appreciate its cooperation openly in the realization of the acts against Cuba.
So generous and disinterested cooperation has not been affected by the repeated violations to the European sovereignty and the rights of its companies and citizens, because anything perturbs the serene dream of the EU, Alarcón revealed.
When referring to Bush's new measures it specified that they describe until the detail the genocide that imagines he will be able to carry out with the Cubans, he threatens to allow the trials foreseen in the title III and he announces to reinforce the application of the sanctions of the title IV.
